Her main task was coordinating artistic group recruitment, travel, and logistics for project. In 2017 Kathy managed to organise the participation of over 150 children from 20 countries. Above of that she was leading new logic model creation and securing as well as managing (initially) the Creative Europe grant. Kathy’s organizational prowess and commitment to detail are humbling to behold. Vital Opera is a small company and the production of an opera is large undertaking. To date, Kathy been the animating force behind all logistical and organizational aspects for two workshop productions in 2016 and 2018, including contracting performers and support staff, booking rehearsal, performance, and housing spaces, arranging food, beverage, and transportation, overseeing publicity campaigns and promotional materials, and coordinating fund raising efforts through grant-writing and donations.

Throughout each production, she was a focused and calming presence, dealing with each new challenge effectively and efficiently. An ideal collaborator, she navigates the inevitable pressures of working intensely within a small group with grace and humor. More inspiring still is Kathy’s commitment to the overall vision of the project and Vital Opera’s mission in general. She understands deeply how small details of communication and logistics accrete to produce an overall experience for artists, staff, and ultimately, the public; each decision Kathy makes is viewed from the standpoint of serving the work.
